The Perfect Storm

Accepting the gift while in the midst of a personal storm can be challenging.  This quote is a wonderful reminder to step back and rise above the storm with the knowledge that this is the perfect storm.  While not always available immediately, the true gift will reveal itself.  Enjoy!  Blessings, Patricia

“This is when the magic happens: right when you feel like everything is going wrong, shift your attitude to accept that it’s actually going right. Our judgments of how we think our life should be are preventing us from reaching our Highest Potential. If you’re going through a storm, hold the belief that it’s the perfect storm for you to be going through and that you’ve been given everything you need to weather the storm. When the chaos subsides you will experience the Truth that is forever true; you are always taken care of, exactly where you need to be and your efforts are rewarded exactly when they need to be. Remember this Truth the next time a storm is on the horizon and you will grow wings and be able fly right over it and towards the calm waters of Trust and Love.” – Jackson Kiddard

This weekend I really came to understand what you meant about how there is a gift that reveals itself at the end of a storm. I can honestly say that you are right. I was in a competition this weekend and I didn’t come in first. I am so competitive that it was really frustrating not to think that I hadn’t managed to place in the top three. I kept beating myself up over it and thinking that I hadn’t tried hard enough. However, my dad pointed out to me that if we came in first every time there would be no point. What would there be to be satisfied about anymore? I understood that and so when I went to compete in one of the biggest competitions I have ever been in I remembered what my dad had said. I came in ninth out of eighty nine people and I was proud. My entire competition career up until the past couple of years has been a struggle, and I know that a struggle never automatically resolves itself over night. So when I came in ninth I was pleasantly surprised. There were so many people competing, the odds were against me, and I still had something to work forward to when all was said and done. I placed in the top ten…I was a top contender and I was closer to success than I had ever been. If I had achieved everything I had ever wanted in one day there really would be no gift for me to appreciate at the end of the day.
I am an intern for a life coach and he has a site where he has a lot of articles (posted by himself and others) that offer advice to life coaches. Since anyone can be a life coach I think that the website would be particularly useful to some of your readers, and that’s why I’m mentioning it. Everyone has struggles but it is how people work through those hard times that are really important. I think that people just need to learn how to work with what they have, I know that’s what I’ve done and continue to do, and I’m absolutely a better person for it.
